Ryan Reynolds Workout

Ryan Reynolds definitely is one of those movie stars that really looks great. His transformation began when he got a role in the movie Blade Trinity for which he successfully gained 20 pounds of solid muscle, but also lowered his body fat down to 3%. Ryan Reynolds’ workout helped him sculpt a six-pack abs through a combination of a sensible workout plan and proper diet. More than that, he has successfully maintained his physique long after the movie was done.

Ryan Reynolds Diet

This celebrity workout involved him eating practically every two to three hours but never to the point of stuffing himself. Part of his diet required him to never go hungry as well as drinking lots of water throughout the day to keep him properly hydrated. His breakfast consisted mostly of half a cup of egg whites with cooked oatmeal (not instant) without any sugar. After about two hours, he’d eat a protein bar to keep himself from being hungry.

The Lunch portion of this celebrities diet plan would normally be a combination of chicken and vegetables or brown rice. Same as after breakfast, a protein bar comes after about two to three hours. Dinner would mostly consist of fish or chicken with salad and vegetables. Dressing would normally be balsamic vinegar.

The Ryan Reynolds Workout

As a part of Ryan Reynolds workout his trainer would have him go through a process of visualization. His trainer taught him to visualize the results he wanted to achieve to help him commit to the work that had to be done. Sometimes he felt that he was training for the Olympics with his workout plan.

Ryan Reynolds workout plan involved lots of heavy lifting and very little cardio as he didn’t have much fat to lose in the first place. Various weight training exercises were used in the 8 to 12 repetitions range. He’d perform his weight training six days a week.

The workout plan involved the targeting of specific body parts each day like chest, back, shoulders, legs, with arms being mixed with any muscle group.

Because lower abdominal muscles were his hardest group of muscles to develop, they targeted this area by using exercise balls. The balls were placed between his legs and required him to lift it up and down with his arms serving simply as anchor. Sometimes a 15-pound dumbbell would be placed between his feet to serve the increase the tension for the leg raises.
